Become a Youth Ambassador

Because sexual violence impacts young people at a disproportional rate, RTS believes that this population is essential in our work to heal and end violence. The Youth Ambassador Program is an opportunity for young people in San Mateo County to educate their peers and spread awareness of issues around rape, sexual harassment and relationship violence.

Youth Ambassadors work alongside RTS staff in outreach campaigns, particularly the annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month Walk in April and Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month in February. Additionally, Ambassadors have the opportunity to create awareness on their high school or college campuses.

Ambassadors are trained on the impact of sexual violence on an individual, community, and societal level. RTS staff and educators provide ambassadors with continued guidance and mentorship.

High school students in San Mateo County who are interested in becoming a Youth Ambassador can call (650) 652-0598 or email

Youth Volunteer opportunities are only available during the school year.
